About Terence Weldon: Catholic, gay, partnered; a father and and a grandfather.
Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, I have been a UK resident since 2003. I have been a regular participant at the so-called “Soho Masses” for lesbian and gay Catholics, where I also served as a member of the pastoral council. I am a national committee member of Quest, the British support group for gay and lesbian Catholics, and the webmaster for the Global Coalition of Rainbow Catholics.
I also serve on the committee of the Centre for the Study of Christianity and Sexuality, and am actively involved in my local parish in Surrey, UK, where I am completely open about my orientation, my male partner (now husband) Raymond, and my activism for gay Catholics. The response from the parish community, in this deep blue, conservative and Conservative part of rural Surrey – has been immensely supportive.
Neither an academic nor a saint, I have absolutely no qualifications in any relevant specialist field of study, other than a passion for collecting and sharing ideas and information. I do however, have strengths and a career record in synthesising and organising information. My aim at this site, is to gather together in terms useful and accessible to non – specialists, a compendium of important information that affects all lesbian or gay Christians (especially Catholics) and their families.
